Volunteer Guidelines Return to Court Watch Home Page Greater Downtown Sarasota Action Team	Mission Statement The mission of the Sarasota Ccourt Watch is to identify repeat criminal offenders involved in street-level narcotics, prostitution, crimes against law enforcement officers and other illegal activities and to monitor their disposition through the criminal justice system using neighborhood residents and community business persons.
	Goals To promote public awareness of the negative effects habitual offenders have on the economic, social and quality of life elements in the Sarasota community. To promote the prosecution to the fullest extent law enforcement officers and other illegal activities. To promote the accountability to the pubilc of judges and to encourage the appropriate sentencing of criminals. To promote awareness in the criminal community that neighborhood residents and business persons will proactively participate in the criminal justice system and will not tolerate criminal business as usual. To promote education of Court Watch volunteers and the entire Sarasota community as to the criminal justice process.
	Cooperation Statement Efforts by the Sarasota Court Watch are made with respect for and in cooperation with all criminal justice representatives. Sarasota Court Watch supports all efforts by the Sarasota community for early intervention and prevention of criminal activity and rehabilitation of criminals as appropiate.
