The Master
of Computer Application course was started from the year 1992-1993 with
intake capacity of 30 students( 21 Maharashtra + 9 Out of Maharashtra).
Admission
to the Master of Computer Application course is open to any graduate
of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University or of any other Indian
University recognized by this University satisfying the following conditions.
i) Being
a Full Time course, the candidate should not be employed during the three
years of this course.
ii) The
candidate should have secured at least 55% marks for the open category
and at least 50% for the reserved categories at the graduate level.
iii) The
candidate should have taken Mathematics or Statistics at the Standard XII
level or graduate level.
SEATS
AVAILABLE & OTHER RULES:
i) 9
seats out of total seats of 30 are reserved for candidates of other states.
As the MCA degree is awarded by the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University,
Aurangabad, the students of other Universities will have to produce eligibility
certificate.21 seats are for Maharashtra candidates.50% of 21 seats are
reserved for backward classes as per Govt. Rules.
ii) All
candidates will have to appear for an entrance test and some for the interview,
for admission.
iii) The
candidates should not be above 28 years of age on 01 August of the year
in which he/she is seeking admission to the MCA Course. However, this condition
does not apply for employees serving in any Department of government of
Maharashtra provided they are sponsored or deputed for the course.
iv) Candidates
who have appeared for their final year of the Graduate examination may
also apply for the course awaiting the final year result. However, they
will have to produce degree result at the time of the entrance test.
ENTRANCE
TEST:
The entrance
test will be an objective test with multiple choice answers to the questions.
Duration of the test is of one hour. The main aim of the test is to judge
the aptitude for the course, mathematical background, logical thinking,
awareness about computers. The knowledge of computers is not prerequisite.
ADMISSION
PROCEDURE:
Admission
is offered as per merit and the merit will be decided by the following
procedure:
1) Marks
obtained at qualifying examination shall have 40% weightage.
2) The
performance in the entrance test shall have 40% weightage. Performance
in the qualifying examination and the entrance test together will be the
criteria for deciding the no. of candidates to be interviewed. The no.
of candidates interviewed will be limited to 3 times the available seats
(category - wise) only as per the merit list e.g. if the seats for out
of Maharashtra candidates are 9, then only 27 candidates will be interviewed
as per merit list.
3) The
performance in the interview shall have 20 % weightage.
Admission
will be confirmed only after payment of full fees before scheduled date
and time and signing the undertaking and declaration regarding code of
conduct, failing which the seat will be offered to the next candidate in
the merit list. |
