Apart from the modern labs, the department has the following major equipments which provide testing facility to industries, Maharashtra State Electrical Board, and other organizations.

The equipments include:

- Energy meter test bench

- Transformer oil dielectric strength testing unit

- High voltage A.C. Power frequency testing up to 220 KV

- High voltage D.C. 120 KV testing

- Impulse Voltage Testing

Theft cases in industries are referred to the Department for testing of tampered meters, cables etc. Testing facility for testing electrical machines such as fans ,submergible water pumps, cables, insulating materials etc. is also provided by the department.Testing for Electrical Insulation, Current & potential transformer is offered.The services for Meter calibration, locating cable faults are also made available.
