There are three hostels that are available as on-campus housing to students of G.E.C.A. Each hostel has a separate Warden (who is a staff member) and a Rector oversees the administration of all the hostels. Admission to the three hostels, is a separate procedure that is to be undertaken by every student each year, desirous of  living on campus. The Rector for the three hostels  also,  is a staff member and is responsible for carrying out the admissions at the beginning of each academic year. There are certain number of rooms allotted to every branch and class within each hostel.

Admission to Hostels
A form available at the Rector's Office in the Boys Hostel-A is to be filled and two photographs are to be attached. Proof of admission along with mark sheet of the previous academic year is be attached.

Fees 
Refundable Deposit : Rs. 100/-
(To be paid at the first time of Hostel admission)

Hostel Fee : Rs. 550/- (per anum)

Students Fee : Rs 50/- (per anum)

After all forms are submitted at the Rector's Office, a merit list is displayed both branch-wise and class-wise. In the choice of rooms and roommates, students in B.E. are given highest preference according to their position in the merit list. Preference order that is then followed is of the order of decreasing seniority. Any problem regarding the choice of rooms and roommates is solved amicably by the students involved and the Rector. The  Rector has the final say in allotment of rooms.

Girls Hostel

The on-campus housing available to Girl students is in the form of a  Girls Hostel that has a capacity of 120 students. There are 40 rooms in the hostel with each room being shared by 3 girls each. Each room is well equipped with adequate number of cupboards, beds, tables and chairs.

Rules & Regulations
The Girls Hostel closes at  7:30 p.m. daily.  All girls are expected to return to the hostel premises within this deadline. Prior written permission is necessary for late entry into the hostel. Written permission is also necessary for  girls who wish take a 'Night -Out' from the hostel or wish to go home. All permission is granted by the Hostel Warden. Every night,  all girls have to sign a muster roll when present in the hostel unless they are away from the hostel on a 'Night -Out'. RAGGING is strictly prohibited. Admission may be withdrawn for any student violating the regulations of the hostel.

Food There is a dining hall in the hostel premises where a mess is run by private contract. All girls are required to eat in the dining hall. 
Rates: 
For 2 meals a day: Rs. 460/-  per month 
Tea/Coffee/Milk, snacks, soft drinks are all provided at an extra cost.

Boys Hostel

There are two hostels for on-campus housing available to boys. These two hostels, Hostel-A and Hostel-C have a combined capacity of  600 students. The facilities available in the Boys Hostels are the same as those available in the Girls Hostel. In Hostel-A, Engineering students of  Second Year (S.E.) and Final Year (B.E.) along with MCA students of all years are accommodated. In Hostel-C, Engineering students of  First Year  (F.E.) and Third Year ( T.E.) are accommodated.

Rules & Regulations:
The Boys Hostels have a deadline of 12:00 p.m. All boys are expected to return to the hostel premises within the deadline. No heating appliance should be used within the hostel premises. RAGGINGis strictly prohibited. Admission may be withdrawn for any student violating the regulations of the hostel.

Food:
There is no mess in the hostel, but many nearby mess' are present. Some  students run a cooperative mess within the hostel premises for those desirous of eating within the hostel. The vessels and cooking appliances are all provided by the hostels.

Off-Campus Housing
There are other means of housing in addition to the hostel facilities mentioned above. For both girls and boys many private hostels are present off campus. Other options for housing include renting apartments or private rooms. Landlords generally offer the rooms/apartments for rent at reasonable rates. Many rooms are available for renting in close proximity to the college campus.
