Rev. Geffen performs weddings and same-sex commitment ceremonies incorporating elements of both your faiths, if desired. The ceremony can also be non-denominational or civil.
Geffen’s background is diverse.
With a religious upbringing in Judaism growing up in Cleveland, in a Jewish home and attending Heights Temple (Conservative Synagogue), B'nai B'rith Youth Organization in high school along with youth at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Zionist - Living / Working / Studying on Kibbutzim in Israel after high school.
In her early 20’s attended Chevrei Tikva (Gay/Lesbian Synagogue) & was a Buddhist for short time, in her late 20’s she became a Christian in southern California and is presently a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in South Texas.
Rev. Geffen has a strong commitment to the gay and lesbian community and continues to lobby for the legalization of same-sex marriages.
Geffen tied the knot with her partner, Bev. They were married in October 2004 on the beach of Corpus Christi Bay in South Texas.
Prior to your special day, Rev. Geffen will meet with you personally so that she can understand you and your partner's needs, and assist with your ceremony.
