The work is showing acrobatic dancers, playing for the people. Their drummers are beating drums for them. Their dance styles are mouth opening to all spetators because of the flexibility, grace and power exhibited by these set of dancers.

TITLE: IYA AGBOMOLA

This work, Iya Abgomola(Translates as "The saviour of the children") is a multiple figure wood sculpture carved on the root of a tree. It shows a woman with a calabash of concorsion on her head. The content of the calabash, when used, is believed to grant healing from the gods to the children (and even the adults for that matter). The people comes from far and near for consultation with Iya Agbomola in order to their healing as well.(A true life story. Contact the curator for more information)

TITLE: SANGO FESTIVAL

A carved panel showing Sango in action. Drummers are beating drums, dancers are dancing and singers are singing to the praise of this great god that spits fire from his mouth. He is known as the god of thunder.

Evening activities is what this carved panel is showing. It shows people settling for different activities, some for drinks, some for games and so on. But it shows some people still busy at work, so when the sun sets, life still goes on.
