Go to our registration page and complete the form include as many details as possible. Please understand that this is an on-line interactive registry, not one intended for use by those who want to fill out a registration form and forget about it.
This means that you: Have reviewed and understand the information and requirements on the first page of the Registration Form before providing information for publication on this site.
By submitting the Registration Form, you are agreeing to have the information you provide in our "online registration area" posted publicly; and You agree to review the registration as soon as it has been added to the site and periodically thereafter, to ensure its continued accuracy.

What happens If I submit the form using an incorrect email address?
A registration without a correct e-mail address is absolutely ineffective for the person who tries to register. If I email your registration number and the email bounces back to me because of incorrect email address the information will not be added to the registry! As it takes much-needed time away from others' registrations, so please make sure your email address is correct!
Finally providing a correct e-mail address is certainly considerate to those who find a possible match, and wish to e-mail the person who registered. Imagine the disappointment you would feel if you found a match yourself only to find the e-mail address provided on the registration is not valid.

What happens after I complete and submit the registration form?
Once the details of the form have been received, I will allocate a registration number and email it to you. Then I will enter your details into our database and add the non indentifying details only to our online registry.(please allow 2-3 days for this!)

How do I search the registry?
Just click on this Our Registry link which will take you to the Heartland Adoption Connection Registry. All the registrations (whether the adoptee, sibling, birthparent, other relative or volunteer searcher fill out the registration form) are indexed by the birthstate of the adoptee.
So simply click on a link to a state and scroll through the page containing registrations for your birth state or that of an adoptee for whom you are searching.

How do I change, update or alter my listing?
The easiest way to make one or two changes to the registration information is by e-mail to geoadopt@hotmail.com with registration update, your name(the same as the registration email I sent) and your registration number IN THE SUBJECT LINE of your e-mail.
Identify the exact changes requested ("adoptee birth date change from 1/3/72 to 1/5/73" for instance). Please note I will not do anything If you do not supply the correct registration details!

What If I find a possible match?
Send an email to geoadopt@hotmail.com , Please be sure to include the registration number! and I will promptly contact the registrant, inform them of the interest in their listing and ask how they want to handle the enquiry as I will not release registrant information to any third party not related to the registrant without the express consent of the individual who posted the information.

How can I remove my listing?
To remove your listing from our registry just e-mail geoadopt@hotmail.com with remove listing, your name(the same as the registration email I sent) and your registration number IN THE SUBJECT LINE of your e-mail. Please note I will not do anything If you do not supply the correct registration details. Note: You can remove your listing for any (or no) reason at all.

Why isn't my listing on the registry?
Providing you have submitted a working email address and have allowed 2-3 days there shouldn't be a problem, however this site is maintained by human volunteers and every registration is important!
No matter how hard we all try we still can make mistakes so we must depend on you to help! So If you cannot find your listing please email geoadopt@hotmail.com and let me know in case for some reason we have missed you.
