In this movie, Kate Hudson plays the role of Andie Anderson, a writer for a women’s magazine called Composure. She writes “How To” articles about mundane things like painting your toenails correctly and longs to be able to have the freedom to write about things that matter to her, like ending poverty or saving the environment for example. But her boss has other ideas and her latest assignment is to write a piece called “How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days” – hence the title of the movie. Andie’s job is to pick a random guy, cozy up to him and start going out, then over the next ten days, do everything wrong that she can possibly can. Her mission? To drive him away by being the worst girlfriend in the universe, then write an article about it so all the women who read the magazine will know not to do anything that Andie does!

Meanwhile, Benjamin Barry (played by Matthew McConaughey), a hotshot advertising executive accepts a bet with his boss to see if he will be able to make a woman fall in love with him in ten days. If he wins, he gets to impress an important client for the company. His mean spirited co-workers deliberately set him up with Andie to try and make it impossible for him to make her love him (after all, with her doing everything in her power to scare him off, how will he possibly be able to tolerate her for ten days?).

The result is a hilarious romantic comedy that everyone will love (you may think it’s a chick flick, but I think that everybody will find something in it that they enjoy, even guys). I don’t want to spoil the ending, but I will say that there are some extremely funny scenes that you won’t want to miss. This movie is definitely worth your money.
