"Design" or Chance?

From Page 1

of how man emerged from God—the Original Cause, we must closely examine the universal creative principle. This we previously termed the “Principle of Creation”. A quintessential statement of the Bible regarding this topic, is that; “God created man in His image, male and female He created them.” (Gen.1:27). There is also the proclamation of God creating all things: the invisible substantial and the visible substantial realities (1:1-25).

From our understanding of the creative process (described previously), we are able to conclude that God created man based on His ideal: Logos—the Image of His nature (Gen.1:27; Jn.1:1; Col.1:15; Heb.1:3).

The scientific anatomical model of healthy man (male/female), for example, becomes the standard of reference for evaluating everyone’s physical state. The internal aspect of man (male/female) likewise, is directly designed to resemble God’s masculine and feminine characteristics. God effected this design process through the avenue of the Principle of Creation, wherein He activated His parental nature to give birth to His children: Adam and Eve (the first human ancestors). As God’s children, they possessed the true seed of life, love and lineage {not yet at the Completion stage of growth (as adults), but at the Formation stage (newborn infants)}.

Through God’s inventive creative acts, He formed each species, from the lowest to the highest, as a substantial paired entity based on the logos of man, in a *Stepped Order (*more details to come). Because all beings are fashioned by the same Creator, they all bear certain universal attributes, but each individual entity is unique in itself.

Family is Forever Corner

What method other than “exchange marriages” will empower Whites and Blacks, Jews and Muslims, Oriental and Westerners, and people of all races to live as one human family? The ideal family is the model for living together in peace. It is the nest where we live and learn to become one. There we have the foundation of love and respect between parents and children, shared trust and love between husband and wife, and mutual support between siblings. For this reason, you should receive the Holy Marriage Blessing from the True Parents and establish Heaven’s tradition of ideal families.”

Divine Principle

Abraham’s family (the third foundational family of God’s providence), God established his covenant to bless him and his seed (12:1-3). However, failure in Abraham making his offering (15:10-13), disunity in Jacob’s family, and the overwhelming threat posed by the pagan civilization of Egypt (representing Satan’s national foundation) caused further prolongation in the providence to send the Messiah.

In his course (God’s third attempt), he was able to succeed in compensating for his initial failure, by offering his son, Isaac (22:2,11-18). Likewise, Jacob and Esau successfully united as brothers (33:1-11). God then gave a messianic prophecy to be fulfilled in Judah’s (Jacob’s fourth son) lineage (49:10). The history that ensued after Jacob’s family, showed God’s efforts to create a secure national foundation on which he could send the Messiah. This is called the central providence of God as compared to the peripheral providence carried out in other nations and cultures of the world (e.g., China, India and others).

In the reign of King David (God’s preeminent Messiah in the Old Testament age), God told him that he would send another Messiah from his lineage (1Chr. 22:8-10) to unify Israel and establish His eternal Kingdom (2Sam.7:12-16). This prophecy pointed to Solomon, but mistakes in his course (1Ki.11:1-8,11) caused further prolongation in God's will to establish a truly victorious Messiah.

It took approximately one thousand years after David, in which the Israelites traversed many difficulties and hardships caused primarily by their failures to unite with God’s directions (see chart), that God sent His Messiah, in the person of Jesus of Nazareth (Lk.1:31-33).
