August 9, 2008 was a great day for America. Why? About 15,000 people of all races, cultures, religions and nations gathered on the U.S. Capitol Grounds to launch the Global Peace Festival-USA (GPF-USA). Ambassadors for Peace UPF-Richmond supported this wonderful event by mobilizing about two bus loads of people from The Richmond area.
 
Global Peace Festival USA became a strong motivating force to move the Richmond UPF forward. We are proud of all those who sacrificed their time, funds and even families, to attend GPF-USA in D.C. We will always remember this special day, August 9th, 2009, that inspired great hope for peace in all our hearts.
