Downtown Y Learn to Run - 2003
Way to Go Everybody!

A perfect day from start to finish.  With clear skies and 26 degrees, the race organizers put on an excellent Canada Day Run especially enjoyed by our group of first-timers.  I think you'll all agree that this strange sub-culture that you experienced today offers a great deal of fun.
At the start of the course I asked that you apply yourself throughout and reserve judgment on whether running is for you until the very end.  So here we are at the very end and my sense is that the running population has suddenly grown.  Congratulations on your accomplishment.
As you go forth I'd like to offer my ongoing to support to each of you either through email or in our programs at the Y.  Remember that you can continue running 5km at lunch on Thursdays at the Y or any other day of the working week.  Groups meet at the front desk at just past noon.  In the fall I'm looking at running a 10k training group - stay tuned for more.

  Thanks for the run!
