Four Scenarios for the Call of Cthulhu Roleplaying Game

Bad Dreams in an Old House

A relatively short scenario for beginning Investigators and players, introducing some basic Lovecraftian elements. The Salstonstall real estate agency in Arkham is trying to sell or lease an old house, but anyone spending a few nights there refuses to take the place due to nightmares.

Elements: Arkham Massachusetts, Salstonstall realtors, old house, power of dreams, value of historical research, old books, "That is not dead which can eternal lie", decayed New England family, The Black Man, Elder Sign, Crawling One.

"Honey, I'm Home"

An award-winning (M.A.C.A.B.R.E. magazine) short scenario for beginning Investigators, involving no exclusively Mythos elements. A young couple about to be married have a problem: the woman's dead husband is trying to kill them.

Elements: walking corpse, value of research, telekinesis, non-combat solutions.

The Beast in the Black

A multiple session high powered scenario for a group of experienced Investigators. A Mythos sorceress has died, and her house is slated for demolition - perhaps some valuable equipment can be gathered? Greatly expanded from an episode of an obscure television show (The Greatest American Hero).

Elements: network of wizards, old house, magic books & items, diaries, animated items, possession, Nightgaunts, Book of Elder Wisdom, Gate spell, another dimension, The Haunter of the Dark, The Shining Trapezohedron, Hunting Horrors, rivalries of the Outer Gods, Nyarlathotep, and a not-so-benign Nodens.

The Necronomicon

A dramatic extensive globetrotting scenario for experienced players (not necessarily characters), with the ultimate Mythos book as the prize. A Miskatonic University alumnus has left his alma mater a copy of the first Greek edition of the Necronomicon - the Investigators merely have to pick it up for the school.

Elements: Miskatonic University, Professor Henry Armitage, The Necronomicon, New York City, beautiful heiress, The Horror at Red Hook, classic Greek mythology and the Cthulhu Mythos, trail of lost diaries, Innsmouth jewelry, Deep Ones, Greece, Gate spell, Algeria, Medusa and the Gorgons, Grae, Yezidis, the N.Y.P.D., Dark Young, Shub-Niggurath, and immortality.
