This is Greenlandair's DC6B 'Sululik' in its heyday. Unfortunately I didn't
take the photo, so I don't know when or where it was taken.
Sharp-eyed viewers will note that my plane has an extra window. When time
permits, I'll remove this and re-space the rest, but I feel that the model
must be a bit too long, because, when I remove a window I'm going to be left
with a lot of blank space on the side of that plane!

Highland Express's Boeing 747 was very smart looking in its St Andrews Cross
colour scheme, but unfortunately, like so many other airlines it failed to
last the pace on the cut-throat services of the North Atlantic.

Yes, its an IL18 of the Polish Airline LOT. Apparently this particular example
was operated by the Polish Air Force, but it just looked like any other LOT
IL18.
Such aircraft were more frequent visitors to nearby Glasgow airport where
examples belonging to Balkan, Interflug, Tarom, Romavia and LOT were frequent
visitors bringing replacement crews for the 'Klondykers' - factory ships
- which processed fish in the waters of the West Coast of Scotland or, in
the case of LOT, taking Polish- born Scottish tourists to see the delights
of their homeland. Few of the passengers probably appreciated that the highlight
of their holiday was the trip in this magnificent propliner!
