In this section are a few aircraft which have taken my fancy - an Airspeed Ambassador, a 747, and an Islander for example. They are all animated as far as possible, but sometimes that isn't very much. The Islander, for example, only has animated flaps! When I tried to animate the props, the windows rotated with them, which didn't look too clever.
Have a look at the planes anyway.

Autair International was the predecessor of Court Line, whose colourful pink,
and yellow, Tristars and BAC111s were a common sight in the early
'seventies.
This aircraft came from Globe Air of Switzerland but was damaged beyond repair
in an aquaplaning incident at Luton in1967. Unfortunately FS98 does not allow
me to reproduce the ample quantities of smoke which emanated from the
Ambassador on start-up.

The Scottish Ambulance Service, in conjunction with Loganair, operate this
Islander on emergency medical services to the more remote areas of Scotland.
Although much of the work is routine, the aircraft can be called out in all
weathers, which can result in it flying in very demanding conditions. Skill
of the highest order is required, but the Air Ambulance Service has an excellent
safety record over many years.
Due to the nature of the work undertaken, however, there have been one or
two tragic accidents resulting in injury and loss of life to both pilots
and nursing staff. Want to see the real aircraft? Click

Boeing 747-123
G-HIHO 'Highlander' Highland Express
______________________________________________________________________________
Highland Express was a low cost airline which operated this elderly B747-123 on a daily Transatlantic service from Prestwick (and Stansted) to New York (or possibly it was Newark, I can't remember!) It didn't last long but its immaculate looking aircraft gave a lot of hope to supporters of Prestwick Airport, which was struggling at the time. This early model has no autothrottle and not too much power either. It's very demanding to fly - can you manage it? Want to see the real aircraft? Click here
Boeing 727-230 ZS-OBO 'Mountain of the Birds' Comair
____________________________________________________________________________
Comair, a British Airways franchise partner, operate the only Boeing 727s ever to wear BA's colours. The exceptionally large area painted in the 'World Image' scheme makes for a spectacular aircraft. ZS-OBO is probably the most attractive of Comair's five 72s, painted in a Scottish tartan-inspired scheme called 'Bennyhone' or 'Mountain of the Birds' It operates between Johannesburg and other South African airports, but looks perfectly at home flying the skies of Europe. Its not suitable for Hong Kong or Japan - try it and you'll see why!
Boeing 727-230 ZS-NOU 'Blomsterang' ('Flower Fields') Comair
____________________________________________________________________________
Here's another of Comair's great 727s.Unlike the Icelandair 737 below, you don't need the alternative colour pallette - in fact its better if you don't have it. However, if you've already installed it, try the plane anyway - it still looks good!

Boeing 727-230 G-OMNP 'The Quiet Cat' Cougar Airways
____________________________________________________________________________
Cougar Airways is a new charter airline which operates three 'Super 727s'(re-engined Boeing 727-200s) on charter passanger and cargo services from various airports in Britain. The colour scheme features a spectacular Cougar's head painting on the forward fuselage (a different painting on each side!)

Boeing 737-400 TF-FID 'Heiddis' Icelandair
____________________________________________________________________________
Icelandair recently adopted a new colour scheme and this 737 is shown painted
into it. FS 98 has some difficulty in displaying the correct colour of yellow,
but with Dave McQueen's alternative colour palette an acceptable approximation
can be achieved. The underside of the aircraft looks black, but it's not
- it's the same as the tail! Want to see the real aircraft? Click

Boeing 737-300 TF-SUN Sunbird
____________________________________________________________________________
Sunbird is a small charter airline which operates flights from Iceland and Scotland to the Mediterranean resorts. Their colour scheme is quite simple - but at least its an improvement on the last scheme they had - plain white!
Boeing 727-108C TF-FIE 'Enterprise' Icelandair
____________________________________________________________________________
Icelandair's first 727 was painted in the same colour scheme as the airline's DC6s, and very impressive it looked too! It was a convertible - no, that doesn't mean that the roof folded down - so it also carried cargo between Iceland and the rest of Europe. The seats in the cargo area were palletised, and when it was in the cargo mode, these pallets were removed and liners fitted to protect the wall panels. The liners can be seen through the front windows.
Boeing 727-100C ZS-IJH Interair South Africa
____________________________________________________________________________
Another South African 727 - this time a 100 series convertible, just like Icelandair. I dont know much about the airline, but they were operating out of Johannesburg in August 2001.
Boeing 737-300 B2939 Shenzhen Airlines
____________________________________________________________________________
Shenzhen Airlines is one of a large number of domestic Chinese airlines which have appeared in the last few years. The airline is based at Shenzhen, a city about 50km from Hong Kong. In fact, Shenzhen is probably the nearest airport to Hong Kong in FS98. (Macau will run it a close second, however!)
If you enjoy flying the IGS13 approach to Kai Tak, this is a very suitable aircraft to do it in. The real airline flies daily services to Beijing and other Chinese cities. Want to see the real aircraft? Click

Celtic are a wealthy and successful football team, but they don't own a Gulfstream 4. However, if you like biz-jets, this one's nicer than most!
_______________________________________________________________________________
Manchester United are even wealthier and more successful, but they don't own one either!
____________________________________________________________________________
Highland Airways is a small Scotland based charter airline, with bases at Inverness and Glasgow. Its parent company is Atlantic Airways, better known to most aviation enthusiasts as Air Atlantique.
I saw this Dornier one morning and just decided to paint it. It flies quite nicely, and can get into all those small airports you always wanted to go to!
_______________________________________________________________________________
Air Ecosse was a small Scottish airline which operated domestic schedules throughout Scotland - and other places too - during the 1980's. They also carried out lots of Mail flights for the Post Office, and this aircraft has the Datapost logo on the nose. Some of the aircraft were painted in full Post Ofice colours!
_______________________________________________________________________________
Air UK operated this F28 -the much travelled third aircraft off the production line - on services between Glasgow and Amsterdam. Only a couple of aircraft carried this attractive scheme, which was a simplification of the company's usual all blue paint job.

An earlier example of PH-MOL, when it was used by Norwich-based Air Anglia during the late 1970s. This model is a refinement of the one above, with slightly more accurate textures. ou need to install the alternative colour pallete, butr its all explained inside the zip-file!

For Islander sound, try MULTIENG.ZIP which is Lycoming sound for non-turbocharged
engines.
.. FS98BNPN.ZIP is an Islander panel.
AAMBPNV1.ZIP is a good Ambassador panel, which uses some old-style guages; Mike Hambly does a Brabazon sound (BRABSNDS.ZIP) which, since the Brabazon used Bristol Centaurus engines (eight of them, admittedly) must be quite suitable - I use it myself. Don't forget to also download BRABSNDA.ZIP which corrects a fault in the original. Without the correction, you won't hear external sound.
JUMBO1.ZIP is a good 747 sound, and there is an excellent selection of panels you can try. However, I use Stephan Grille's magnificent 747sp panel which is available from the 747sp site at www.pcteck.ch/bia747/747sp-mainpage-index0.htm
MSGULF4.ZIP is a good panel for the Gulfstream. I dont know of a sound file - the default 737 doesn't sound too bad
