next day's entry
The day starts off with breakfast at Lucille's in Maadi.  We have sausage and eggs, and it's all good.  At breakfast, Lorra receives a call from Kelly asking about that afternoons falucca ride.  Oops, forgot to tell Lorra that I had invited the people that I met at the pyramids out with us today.  Anyways, we're supposed to meet them at some hotel by the Nile.

We take a taxi over to the hotel, and Lorra finds Rich and Kelly.  They're both lawyers from Atlanta, and they're on a one year, around the world trip.  How cool is that?

We get on the falucca around 4pm and we hire it for 3 hours.  It's a bit overcast, and there's a mist of sand in the air also, but it's still a beautiful day.  The breeze on the Nile is refreshing, and the beers are crispy cold.

Probably the funniest experience was going to the facilities.  The roof of the boat also doubled as a curtain separating the front from the passenger area.  The ladies had to hang over the edge to relieve themselves.   Us guys had an easier time.  We just had to make sure that the wind was going in the appropriate direction--if you know what I mean.  I had a scary moment, as another falucca was approaching pretty close to ours, and I tried to rush it as fast as I could.
What an experience!  I peed in the Nile!!!
Check out Rich & Kelly at their website, and see what they've done...
