After 10 months of waiting Lisa's doctor finally got a "thumbs up" from her! It was no ordinary thumbs up, it was a PERFECT "thumbs up". He also got a big smile from her too! Lisa has come out with some words too! "Bye Les" "Yes" "Hi Mom" "Hey" and the list grows each day. I hope everyone at Mission Hospital is cheering, we have ALL waited so long for this! Your prayers are working miracles.

August 10, 2003  
Lisa continues to make progress in all areas. She is using a tilt table and tolerating it well. She had a special visitor last Wednesday.....One of her favorite rock groups the Goo Goo Dolls their lead singer John Ressnick came for a visit. Lisa was all smiles and looked rather "star struck" John was very gracious and we really appreciate him taking the time to cheer Lisa up! It was a good thing.

August 21, 2003  
Lisa continues her climb to recovery. She is going through a new level and is confused and agitated alot. She tolerates us and the physical therapy but not with a smile. She however must proceed onward and we pray that this stage goes by QUICKLY.

August 23, 2003  
Lisa is doing some amazing things.....she is transferring items from one hand to another, tolerating the tilt-table for an hour and half, feeding herself shaved ice(with little assistance) making attempts to brush her teeth and answering the phone. We are seeing that "old" personality "I CAN DO IT MYSELF" It makes our hearts SMILE

LISA IS TALKING! It's not consistent, but about 10 words a day are coming out and it takes a lot of effort and energy on her part to do so. She is answering questions with multi word sentences and with pointing to indicate her answers. It is amazing to witness and very rewarding for her....keep your prayers coming.....they are working miracles for Lisa.
