Lisa's doctors were impressed with her progress. She gave her physical
therapist a thumbs up. Lisa is still fighting an infection. We need
prayer for her to beat it so they can put the shunt in. We also need
prayer to lead us in Lisa's next step of her recovery.

So farthe tests are all negative but the cultures need 72 hours to be
accurate. Dr. Gross wants to put the shunt in, most likely early next
week. The best progress in the last two days is her tracking. Her eyes
are clear and she seems very alert to her surroundings. She expresses herself
through her eyes. Her thumbs up is becoming more consistent.
P.S. Happy Birthday, Cathy!!!

Lisa's eyes were clear and sparkling today. She continues with her breathing treatments
with antibiotics and has nothad a temperature. She is learning to transfer objects
from one hand to another. It's a slow process but she is trying hard. She held herself up for a few
seconds on the edge of her bed (with backup). She seems to be getting slightly
stronger and the therapists are FABULOUS with her.

Lisa was awake and alert almost all day. She is
becoming more aware of her surroundings and looks pretty puzzled. She seems very
sensitive to the touch and seems confused to what is going on. She responds
to "relax Lisa" and seems comforted when she hears a familiar voice.

The days are quickly flying by.......
They are working Lisa hard in physical therapy. She doesn't like it but she
does it anyway. She was making angry noises when we got her up. It probably
was good she couldn't express her thoughts at that time. She had a slight
fever today; we don't know where that came from. They will be putting the shunt back in next Monday

Our Christmas prayers were answered. Lisa appears very alert to her
surroundings. She was even able to wave to her mom and her nurse. This
is her best day yet!!!

Lisa should be moving to a sub-acute rehab soon. Thank you for the prayer.
A rehab nearby has finally worked out taking Lisa. We are very happy
about that! Have a safe New Year's Eve!
