Uncle Bill invented his very own
"Bill's bungee" for Lisa. This cord with velcro keeps Lisa's
feet from "dropping" or "pointing" (we do not want
this) She is frustrated that talking has become so difficult, but we
continue to encourage her and I am confident she will be saying more
new words soon.

Lisa is attempting to talk! She is
trying harder than ever to communicate. It takes a lot of effort on
her part but words are emerging! Also during physical therapy today
her right side is RESPONDING! GO, GIRL GO! God has given Lisa all the
tools she needs for recovery, we need to pray she searches them out
and FINDS THEM!

Lisa had a very good weekend. She was the most alert she has been since the
accident. I was awakened early Sunday morning (5:30) by Lisa's nurse
telling me that Lisa said "good morning' to her when she walked
in her room. When I arrived she was "bright eyed." She
attempted to talk but the words were unclear. She continued the day
with periods of clarity and still trying hard to communicate. Praise
God she is still emerging!

Lisa continues to get stronger and looks comfortable in her new
surroundings. She has not vocalized much, but we will continue to
encourage her. Her room is very festive with hearts, balloons and
flowers everywhere. The bright colors and the movement from the
balloons keep her quite occupied.........

Lisa looks great. Not much talking but she's bright-eyed. We got her a patch for
her eyes to be worn for a few hours on each eye. This is supposed to
help strengthen her eyes. She may be having double vision problems
which is very common with a brain injury. We continue our "family
therapy" all day everyday and see small improvements along the
way. We praise God for surrounding Lisa with the most awesome group of
loving people who give their time through prayer and care giving!

Healing and awareness of her environment continue to improve as Lisa slowly
continues to emerge from her coma state. She is becoming more
emotional and moving her limbs on a more consistent basis......like
the "turtle" she will WIN the race in her own time........

Tuesday was a very emotional day for our family. The person responsible for Lisa's
accident plead GUILTY and was sentenced to jail. He spoke to the
family and appeared to be very remorseful for what happened. We are
relieved that there is some closure there. Lisa was looking very alert
at times and tracking people well. We are still looking for a
"TILT TABLE" for Lisa's rehab. In order for her to be able
to walk again we must keep her tendons flexible. If any one has a
connection to one or can help us find or purchase one please e-mail us
ASAP! May God Bless your day.....
