Lisa was given a new valve in her tracheotomy so she can try to talk. She
is working with a speech therapist who will try and help her learn.

Today was a good day. Started off with a fever, but the doctor thinks
it is drug related. She had no fever by nighttime. The cat scan was "excellent"
according to Dr. Gross. Lisa was a lot more alert today. Tracking really well
and even turning her head to watch people come and go. Her eyes looked
beautiful and full of LIFE........Good things are happening.

Lisa had a great day. She has been working with a speech therapist and was
actually able to say "hi" 4 times today. It was great to
hear her voice!!! Talk to us, Lees!

The transfer to rehab went very SMOOTH today. She has her own room
with a beautiful view of the ocean. Lisa still has a slight fever and
infection and is unable to have any visitors yet. The transition has been hard on
Lisa and she is a little confused, uneasy, and tense. Everyone at the unit is
very sensitive to this and is trying to make the transition easier for her.
The staff is very excited to have her there and are ready to help her in
any way they can. What a wonderful answer to PRAYER........

Lisa woke up contracted and sweating profusely. She looked very uncomfortable
and was not responding to anything. Her temp was 101 and she was given
Tylenol. About 3 hours went by and she was looking worse. At about
noon, her temp spiked to 103.7 and she had a seizure. She was
transported back to Mission hospital to the ICU where she went
through a battery of tests. We don't know anything yet. Lisa did sleep
peacefully through the night.

The tests are still coming back negative. They did a nuclear blood test
with her white blood cells. They can't find any infection. They took
her off isolation precautions. They think this was just a neurological
temperature spike. She is still in the ICU and they are waiting to see
how she does in the next few days

Lisa was restful and calm even after three attempts for a lumbar puncture
yesterday. They couldn't get a sample of her spinal fluid to test for
infection so she won't transfer today. They were successful today and
the results were negative so the transfer to rehab is set for Friday
morning. Her vital signs are better than ever and she looks wonderful.

Lisa is still adjusting from the transfer. She is sleeping a lot. She is on
a new anti-seizure medicine that could be making her very tired. We
will be checking on that. The seizure she had was due to the spike in
her temp and hopefully just a one-time occurrence. We are seeing
slight movement and responses from her right leg but nothing from the
left. We continue to move her and do range of motion on all her joints
all through the day. We appreciate any prayers you could send in her
direction. God Bless!

Lisa had short periods of time when
she was very alert and responsive. Again she had small workouts
through out the day and is very aware of her surroundings. When asked
to move her legs and toes she responded immediately with a kick on her
right leg and she moved her TOES on her LEFT leg!!!!!!!WOW it's the
first time! She is telling us that she HEARS us, she is PROCESSING the
command and her muscles are RESPONDING! PRAISE GOD....BIG STEP

Lisa was stable today. She again had short periods of wakefulness. We had a
team meeting today with her doctor, therapists, nurses, nutritionist,
pharmacist and caseworker. We meet every other week to determine the
course of treatment for Lisa based upon how she is doing. They are
reducing her meds for seizures (they make her sleepy) and reducing her
therapy time (PT, OT, Speech) because they are NOT getting responses
from her. OUR PRAYER IS FOR RESPONSES FROM LISA.....come on girl!!!
