Lisa had a lot of family in on the weekend. She responded really well but got frustrated when trying to talk. She did lift her right leg up and stick her tongue out on command,,,,,,,that's a very good sign! PRAYER FOR THE WEEK; Lisa needs to move her arms, legs and head. I know she can but hasn't found the connection yet. God Bless your week.

Lisa is doing great. She is slowly opening the doors to consciousness. I believe she is very aware of her environment but unable to express herself. She vocalizes a lot and her words slowly emerge every so often. She tracks whoever is in her room and takes in whatever is going on. She will have lots of stories to tell.

Lisa was sleepy on and off this weekend but when she was awake did vocalize a lot. She has been working on saying YES and NO and has started to say YES more consistently! This will be a whole new level of communication for Lisa when she can master this response.

Lisa did real well this weekend. She had great periods of awareness and practiced hard on talking. She did say YES and No more consistently and even said HI on the phone. She looks beautiful, her coloring, skin and eyes especially. She is being supplemented with fresh fruits and vegetables (in capsule form, then diluted in water) and I think it is really making a difference. We are still waiting to hear about the tilt-table. There is so much red tape trying to get it in in the hospital. We just pray it gets here soon.

Lisa went outside for the first time today. She was being moved to another room and had to be out for a few hours while they cleaned it. We went to the unit's rec-room and watched "Sweet home Alabama." Then we wheeled her out to the rose garden. It was a beautiful day and she loved it. We strolled around the grounds and took a look at the fish aquarium. She was happy to be outside the hospital and was wide-eyed the whole time. Her alertness to her environment continues to grow. It was a GREAT day!

Lisa is making progress in the communication department. She answered questions with a definite NO several times this weekend and even shook her head YES once. She is making new connections and the more times she is able to respond the more efficient it will become. She has opened some doors this past week and we like the progress we see.
