May, 2006
March was brain injury awareness month and we are trying to
get the word out "Protect your head" Lisa has reached another
level of recovery these past few weeks. Her memory is sharper
and her conversational skills are improving daily. She has
quite a wit about her and is initiating conversation more.
Her word finding has really improved and she is feeling much
more confident in a social setting. Many thanks to her new
friends, Alicia, Cristin and Monica who spend time each week
helping to strengthen those skills by spending time with her.
Lisa loves the company and being with people her own age.
Lisa is enjoying her volunteer work at MOPS on Fridays and
loves working with children again. Lisa feels good being productive
and is proud she is reaching her goals. Lisa is still completing
the ABI program at Coastline College. In May she will have
completed the two year program. We are very proud of her!
The highlight of the year was seeing Bon Jovi in concert.
It was a very long night and she was a real trooper! She knew
every word to every song, and sung them all. Being with her
long time friend Melissa was just like old times. The highlight
this month is that she is driving! Yes you read that r ight.....she's
driving! Not unsupervised yet, but she is getting comfortable
with the whole routine and she is doing GREAT! Her goals are
all coming to fruition and it's a pleasure to see it! Miracles
never cease over here.... God shows us everyday how awesome
He is just by looking at Lisa's life unfold. WOW what a privilege.
Blessings to you and our heartfelt thanks for all your prayers!
