We were all a little anxious for Sunday to arrive. Lisa's first trip out of the hospital and her first time home in over a year. The Graues (Rick's family) were kind enough to offer their van to transport Lisa and it worked out perfectly. We were all nervous especially Lisa, but once we arrived we had a great time. Lisa was comfortable and talkative and very relaxed. We had family time again and it felt GOOD! We want to thank everyone for their prayers. Lisa is still going through some pretty tough rehab, but yesterday was the first time she did not complain about her feet and ankles hurting! She is almost standing by herself in the walker and it is just a matter of time before she takes her first step

Lisa is re-orienting herself to her environment. She is not liking any of the tubes ( G-tube and Trac) and is constantly trying to pull them out. She is complaining about everything and I have to say her behavior is a little bizarre. But despite it all it makes us giggle and we think it's pretty wonderful! She asked for a BEER yesterday and today she wanted CASH! Sounds like the old Lisa is coming back!

Lisa is improving at a rapid pace. She continues to amaze all of us. She is remembering more and more and her long term memory is excellent. Lisa is able to have conversations which is a miracle in itself. Her movements are much more fluid and she continues to try to take steps in the walker. Her feet, legs and ankles are still bothering her and it is quite painful for her to rest her feet on the floor. Please continue to pray for physical healing as well as emotional healing too. Lisa gets quite upset over her inability to do things but through it all her strong determination to come back shines through!

Lisa pulled out her trach and it closed up so quickly that to put it back in, they would have had to do it surgically. So the trach remains out and she is very pleased about it. She pulled out her feeding tube too but they put another one in. She complains that it stings and itches so I'm thinking that it is on it's way out too! She is struggling through physical therapy and insists that she can walk! She walks with a walker longer distances each day. It is so painful for her it is almost to hard to watch, but her determination is something to see. She has progressed so far in such a short period of time that the Doctor says she is ready for the next level of rehab. We are looking for the right place for her to go.We were hoping to go back to Mission but they said no. We would appreciate your prayers concerning Lisa's placement......the perfect place is waiting for her. It is such a privilege to be part of this miracle.......Thank you all

Lisa continues to reach new heights in her rehab. Her walking improves every day. She is almost walking unassisted with the walker which is quite impressive! Her ankles even look better but, her heel cords need lots of prayer! She finally found a way of removing her G tube again, but this time they left it out. Lisa is quite happy about that decision! We are still waiting for direction concerning her next placement. We are confident that the right place is just waiting for her arrival. Our deepest thanks for all the prayer....

Lisa's recollection of things past and present is still inconsistent. Her responses can be from startling to humorous but, she always says them with confidence and a slight grin on her face. She strives each and everyday to reach new heights in her rehab. Her hand/eye coordination is outstanding! In rehab she plays golf, bowling, paddle ball(nerf style) and fishes. She can maneuver her wheelchair anywhere and is walking (w/assistance)on the parallel bars. Overall, she is still amazing everyone and we are so very proud of her! Please continue to pray for her next rehab placement and for her ankles and leg strength.

Lisa has been accepted to a great rehab in Tustin. It is very intensive and should prove to take her to a whole new level! We are EXCITED! The move takes place next Tuesday so please keep her in prayer, the transition could be hard on her. This is a wonderful opportunity for her to gain the knowledge and the tools she needs to be able to come home, that could take place before the holidays! What an amazing answer to prayer that day will be! Again, our heartfelt THANKS to all of you for your continued support and prayers!!!!
