UPDATE October 2006:
It was a fantastic summer for Lisa. It was one vacation
after another, lots of traveling and visiting with
friends. Our cruise through the Polynesian Islands was
like no other vacation we have taken. Thanks to Grandpa
John we all enjoyed a small piece of heaven. Lisa loved
it all, from swimming with the rays and sharks to
dancing in the disco at night, it was a beautiful time
together.
Just after getting home from Tahiti we took a Houseboat
trip to Trinity Lake in northern California. It was the
perfect compliment to our cruise. It was relaxing and
exciting and we loved all the water toys. Lisa is like a
fish in the water and the water does wonders with her
“thinking power”. We found that if she went swimming
every 2 hours her mental capacity stayed at its highest
and she had clarity of mind. It was a good thing!
Lisa really enjoys seeing old friends. Her memory comes
alive and the giggles are contagious. Her long-term
memory is good and her social skills are exceptional.
Getting together with friends is both, healing and
healthy for her.
Lisa is now going to Coastline just 2 days a week. They
are helping her to transition into the workplace. Lisa’s
highest priority is to work again and to get some
autonomy in her life.
We just passed the four year anniversary of Lisa’s
accident. We would like to thank our family and friends
for their continued support and those who have followed
Lisa’s progress through this web-site. Your prayers and
friendship have meant so much.
