Lisa continues on her road to recovery. She is getting better at her fine motor skills and is using her voice a lot. The speech therapist calls it "vocal play", every so often a word or two spills out. It is so fantastic to be able to communicate with her and have her answer questions! The anniversary of Lisa's accident is slowly approaching. (Sept 28) We were thinking of having a 24 hour prayer chain that day. So keep it in mind and we will put up the details sometime this week.

September 11, 2003  
Lisa has had the BEST week of rehab since her accident! She has learned how to pivot herself (w/help) off the bed into a chair and back. She is transferring items from one hand to the other, eating unassisted and can have an assortment of foods now. She is learning to stand (thanks to the tilt table) and is going to try a walker tomorrow! Her speech has improved 100% and the therapists are so excited!

September 16, 2003  
Lisa is making hugh improvements in all areas. Her speech is becoming more fluid and she can answer questions that require critical thinking skills. She really enjoys eating food again, and of course likes to do it herself! She is using her muscles to facilitate movement and it gets better each day.....It's really a privilege to witness this miracle..

There is no stopping this girl. She is enjoying three meals a day (and feeding herself) She has learned to wheel herself around the hospital.....and her speech continues to improve with leaps and bounds! She understands where she is and has so far recognized all her family and friends. She is a determined girl with FAITH.... that's an unbeatable combination.....Your prayers and support really are an encouragement to her....

You better be sitting down for this one! I gave Lisa a document to read and explained it to her and gave her a choice to sign it or not. She took the pen from me and started to sign it. I told her an X would do. She continued and wrote out LISA TAYLOR! She then proceeded to read and SAY every word writen out by her speech therapist. She is doing so amazing we are on our way to accute rehab!..Praise God!
PS. Prayer request: Her ankles and feet are in a lot of pain from the standing.She needs to have her feet in the right position for braces.She needs healing for her feet....

We are living our prayer! Lisa continues to improve in every area. She is speaking, reading, eating, moving and writing. The movements are not fluid, but continue to get better each day. She is off her seizure meds and no more tube feeding. She delights in her improvements and works very, very hard throughout the day. Her fighting spirit is an inspiration to everyone around her. Thank you for your diligent prayers. As we unite in prayer on Sunday September 28th to thank God for this miracle and for the victorious journey ahead we pray that God will bless you in a special way for volunteering to go on this journey with us.
