September 2005
Our vacation to Hawaii was FABULOUS! We had dolphins and turtles swimming
by our house everyday. The weather was beautiful and the local people were
warm and welcoming. We did our tourist time and went sight seeing all over
the island with Stan and Brooke as our guides. We saw the amazing beauty of
the island both from the ground and from a glider ride. (Lisa and Mom stayed
grounded) Lisa loved the polo ponies and swimming in the waves. The house we
stayed in was a perfect sanctuary for rest and renewal. We had the most incredible
sunsets each evening. We visited a wonderful "on fire" little church in Makaha "Ark
of Safety" They welcomed us with arms opened wide and our spirits were lifted! Our
time together as a family was invaluable. We thank Kristen and Ward for their
generosity by allowing us to experience their "little part of heaven". We hope
to see Hawaii again. Lisa started her second year at Coastline. Her class is
small and she has started to interact with her teachers and classmates. I think
we will see a lot of growth this year. Away from school Lisa stays to herself most
of the time. It is hard for her to stay in contact with old friends and the opportunity
to make new ones is almost non-existent. Her time is spent taking walks, listening to music,
reading magazines (books are too long) seeing doctors and therapists, and seeking answers
to how to rebuild a life for herself. Please continue to keep Lisa in your prayers. We appreciate
all the spiritual support we can get. We have pictures from Hawaii that we "hope" will be up soon
on the website. God's blessings to all! ALOHA
