Geography

Africa is a massive continent which is made up of more than 50 countires.

Because of it's immense size, it is usually separated into regions:

A. High and Low Africa

High Africa--high elevation in the east (i.e. Kenya)

Low Africa--low elevation in the west (i.e. Mali)

B. East, West, Southern, Northern, Equatorial Africa

East--High Africa, the dominant biome is savanna, long rivers, deep lakes

West--low elevation, variation in the soils

Southern--dominated by the savanna biome, Kalahari desert

Northern--desert, dry soil

Equatorial--tropical rain forests
