Lisbon is in Europe but not that expensive European experience that one gets while visiting London or Paris. It was very inexpensive. I also liked the topography. Lisbon has a hilly terrain with crooked streets. It was a radical departure from the flat Florida to which I am accustomed.
Belém is a neighborhood in Lisbon (the capital). In addition, it is a center with many monuments and museums.
