Hi Girish,
I saw your web site. It has very valuable info about Vengurla. But I couldn't found a thing that I was searching for. I am interested in information about accommodation facilities in Vengurla and Malvan. If you can share some information regarding the same it will be a great help. I am planning to visit Vengurla and Malvan very soon.

Hi,
I was just browing your pages. Thought you may be interested in picture of Navadurga Temple in Bhaktapur, Neapl (see attachment). Actually we are not allowed to take the picture of the idol of Navadurga in this particular temple. Just in case you are interested, the idol itself is about 6 to 8 inches tall. But, interestingly enough, the face of the Goddess is removed from the idol. I asked the locals of the reasons and found out that the Goddess is so powerful that the face had to be removed as it is beyond humans to see the face. And in this temple, they keep big clay masks of all nine durgas for worship. These masks are worn by the the temple's minders for different festivals etc. and for performing various rituals of dances. There are so many legends surrounding the temple that makes it very very interesting...
Thanks.

Dear Mr. G. Gavaskar,
I was just going through your site. Out of 108 names of Durgadevi you have mentioned one of the names is NAVDURGA. Please note that foral de Ilhas of Gancim village of the year 1546, a copy of which I have in my possession clearly states that the name of the goddess at that time was DURGA DEVI and Portuguese called her by name DRUGA DEVI. It was only when she was shifted from Gancim to Marcaim, Cundaim and Reddi that her name was changed to NAVDURGA. Please clarify whether the adjective NAV was added because new deity was being worshipped instead of old one or NAV is the name in puranas? ( Something to do with nine number). The goddess is no where known by name NAVDURGA in old Portuguse official books. She was known by name DURGA DEVI alone.
The gotras of Mahalsa are Atri, Bhardwaj, Kaushik, Koutsa and Gargya and that of Navdurga at Cundaim are only Gargya and that of Navdurga at Marcaim is Atri. Please let me know what the the gotra of Sunil Gavaskar. I am doing research on Gancim for last eight years.
Thanks,
Bhagawant S. Kamat

Dear Mr. Girish Gavaskar saheb,
Saprem namaskar.

A couple of months back, when I was searching site of Mahalakshmi of Kholapur, I luckily came across your site of `Shri Devi Navadurga'. I visited your site again yesterday and I found it even better than before. Specially the link you have provided to other sites of temples and gurus is wonderful. Last month my family & I tried a lot to find out the site of Shri Swami Samarth of Akkalkot, but failed to find one. To our surprise, yesterday through your site, we got an easy access to that site. We thank you for that.
We are very much impressed by your site. We were wondering whether we could create a similar site of our Kuladevata, which is near Trambakeshwar, Nasik, Maharashtra.
It will be kind of you, if you can guide me as to how this can be made,
1) Is a photo of idol taken by digital camera required? 2) Are there any agencies, which undertake this work of creating a site?
How much do they charge approximately?
It will be kind of you if you guide us regarding this.
Thanking you in anticipation.

Yours truly,
Kiran Bhatte.

I was wondering if you could add value to our site with your love for travel and penchant for gathering factual data. The format will have to be that followed by us on the articles that I showed you. If you can do that, we can help you put your articles on our front page. We get about 10,000 page views per day and that when we have not launched commercially. Dear Girish,
It's really a wonderful site. I like it very much. I have few suggestions since you have all resources and technical capabilities to do it.
1. Separate out Ganapati's website and make it for all possible Ganapatis (E.g. AshtaVinayaka, Titwala, SiddhiVinayaka, GanapatiPule etc.)
2. Add all other KulDaivats of Saraswats such as RavalNath (Our KulaDaivat)
ShantaDurga
Mangesh
ChamundaDevi
Siddheshwar etc.
You can have a separate site for all possible Saraswat Kuldaivats.
Blessings from Kuldaivat before starting the routine work is a great idea.
It can give opportunity to see Kuldaivats to all Saraswats worldwide. You can suggest it in Saraswat Chaitanya and get it done too. Getting clear and professionally clicked photographs of such Kuldaivats is a only main task to be executed.
I hope you are not upset by my suggestions.
With warm regards
Raju
