Labour - not for the first time, women were in the workforce. They worked in factories at home, buildling aircraft parts, ammunition, etc. to help in the war effort. This was also a good way to support their families, since the men were at war.
Women - women were in their prime, doing things they'd never had the chance to do before. They were feeling stronger, more able than any time before the war.
Canada in the World - William Lyon Mackenzie King was Canada's Prime Minister during the Second World War.
