| World War One - Poem |
| Into the Trenches In the trenches of warfare Torn by the hatred and fear that is Theirs Torn, like the ground overhead My friends, fellow soldiers, lie on the uncaring bed Of flith, shells and battle scarred land Turn away, close my ears and eyes, take my hand Their cries slice through the night Darkness can never silence their fright It can never stop the memories Only I, and no one else, can ever see What was done to them and I This storm of shellshock has no eye No calm before, after or deep inside But always just there, in the black abyss of The needlessness of war (c)2001 Sarah Wong (IriskissProductions) |
