Sailor Moon Pillow

A pillow is the easiest thing to make. You can have varying degrees of difficulty, but they are the first things that actually turned out for me. The pillow shown here is an "intermediate" skill level.

First, I took a picture that I liked, and printed it onto iron on paper. Then, I cut 2 hearts out of white fabric, and ironed the picture in the middle of one of them. I sandwiched some batting in between, pinned it down, and then sewed around the picture. I then decorated the rest of the heart with little sewn on designs - hearts, stars, and moons. That is what gives it a quilted, three-dimensional look.

Then I sewed lace around the pillow top, with the lace facing in. Then, with right sides together, I sewed yet another heart (this time in pink fabric) onto the pillow top. I left about open a three inch space for turning. After I was done sewing, I turned it right side out, stuffed it, and hand sewed the hole. These are the results:

Pillows are sew easy! Go ahead, try it. You don't even need a sewing machine. A pillow is easy and small enough to make by hand.
