Saturn: A Work in Progress...

Okay, I know I have been promising new pictures for over a year! Well, here they finally are.

That thing coming out of the shoulders is called a "neck stump." Her head has a hole at the base of it that the neck stump is inserted into.

Censored!

The Splits!

Look, this one has a belly button, and boobs. The other doll that I made, Winter Rose, has no such thing. It is much simpler. I will probably not make another doll like this for a long time, it was so difficult. I had to make the torso about 3 times, and I still didn't do too well on this one. At the back of her neck stump, about 2 cm down, she has a popped seam, which I have sewn back up, but it still shows. I overstuffed the body, so it was difficult to close the back. You can see the needle holes where I sewed it.

Also note the high heels. She has clay baked into her shoes to make them hard. These type of shoes are painted on, so the heel is sewn right into the foot. I like shoes that come off, though, so I probably wont do that any more. There are chenille stems in her fingers (they go up to her elbow) to make them poseable. As you have already noticed, this doll is flexible.

Look at those fingers!

Look at that belly button!

Here are pictures of her with out clothes. You can see that the face has been painted on, as well as her boots.

Here are some pictures with her clothes on. She is wearing a white spandex body suit, with a cotton pleated skirt and cotton sailor collar. I forgot her gloves (oh well). Her hair is a "wig" of yarn that was glued on.

Well, that is about it for Saturn.
