If it had not been for my friend Valarie's addiction to Sailor Moon, I never would have made that first doll last year. She is actually addicted to most anime. So I made her into an anime character. I have noticed that there are no black anime characters, so Valarie can be the first. I have named this doll Winter Rose. If you would like to, you can sent me fan fiction with Winter Rose as the main character. I will post it on my site (as long as it is appropriate). I am sure we will both get a kick out of it!
This doll was made with brown robe velour, fuzzy side in. The eyes are painted on with acrylic paint. She wears a store bought sweater, hat, shoes and stockings. I made her skirt with a scrap of black fabric.
She has pipe cleaners - or chenille stems - in her fingers to make
them poseable. I know you can't see them, but she has little painted
toenails. The hair is made from very thin yarn, because she is just
about 18" tall. Thick yarn like I made for the other dolls would not
look to scale.
