Minster Lovell Hall is haunted by a ghost who is called Lord Lovell. Lord Lovell lived at the home of Lambert Sinnel and his supporting family. After the battle of Stoke, Lord Lovell went in to hiding with his dog in a secret chamber which was locked from the outside. He was looked after by one of his faithful servants. Then his servant died and Lord Lovell starved to death. In 1718 the house was being repaired and a vault was uncovered in which they found Lord Lovell's skeleton and at the bottom of his feet the skeleton of a dog was found. Lord Lovell is described as being a tall man who often wore a cloak around him. He has been seen walking though the ruins accompanied by the sound of rustling paper. The White Hart Pub in Minster Lovell We also found out about a ghost that is in The White Hart Pub. We visited the pub on Wednesday 12th February .When we arrived we found an old man asleep on the table in the corner. It felt a bit creepy and weird. The White Hart was built in the 15th century. It is said to be haunted by a ghost called Rosalind. Rosalind is thought to have hanged herself from a staircase as a result of a broken love affair. It is claimed that she has been seen crying bitterly close to the old staircase that she had hanged herself from. There are many stories associated with the ghost. On one occasion it is said that a barrel of sherry was tipped over and its contents spilled everywhere. |
