Nightmare Theatre Opening (early to mid '60's)

This one, which was featured most often, started with the exterior of another deserted house (a miniature as before) with a storm on the soundtrack and an occasional flash of lightening. The camera moves slowly toward the house. Dissolve to the interior, which is in total darkness except for a dim spotlight on a coffin. As we move toward it, the lid begins to open. Inside is a young looking "Vampire" which then match dissolved to a still shot of a rotting corpse with the eyes staring. A long echoing scream is heard on the soundtrack as the word "Nightmare" dissolves over the shot.
