My
Year Abroad in
Taipei, TAIWAN
Here is my journal that I did my best to keep up over an incredible 9 months for which I have to thank: Dr. Cheng for his bemused patience with my erratic Fulbright work; office mates Yu-Jung, Chi-Yuan, Jiau-Ju and Evil for helping me with everything from SAS to bus routes; my grandparents Ama and Agong for reminding me why I am in health care; my relatives especially JieFu and BiauJie for teaching me true generosity; my English students for teaching me true patience(!); my ShiDa language school classmates--I have never had a more fun group of horny, popular, funny and beautiful girl friends; Brian who makes me want to be a nicer person to everyone; Shawna for her gentleness while writing a tough story; Brad who makes me want to travel and scuba dive; Tricia for being truly sweet yet sassy; FSE for treating us scholars like honored guests yet like friends; Niclas for his levelheadedness and his pithy snide humor; Jonathan for exploring life and people and his colorful storytelling humor; Ginger for, oh she knows; Dave for putting up with me when I turned into a LDR banshee; my family and US friends for making me feel less homesick even when oceans away.
