What is Yoga and what does it do?
Anyone can practice
yoga. You do not need special clothes or equipment - just a small
amount of floor space and a desire for a healthier, more fulfilling
life.
The yoga postures or
"asanas" exercise every part of your body, stretching and
toning the muscles, flexing the spine, joints and the entire
skeletal system. The postures also affect the internal organs,
glands and nerves, keeping all systems in radiant health.
By
releasing physical and mental tension, they also liberate vast
resources of energy.
Yoga also helps to control the mind, leaving
you feeling calm and refreshed, while the practice of positive
thinking gives increased clarity, mental power and concentration.
