Back to Heaven Diary Index

a place across from mine

Today is my first day in heaven! Boy, I sure thought that hospital would be it. It's amazing how short the pain was. I end up in a car wreck, I get put in an ambulance, they work on me for a few hours, and then I'm here. It's not as cloudy as I pictured, but it sure is beautiful. I've never seen anything more beautiful in all my life. The trees, the animals, the plants, the people, have never before been so exotic or beautiful looking.
I'm in my room right now, sipping an alcoholic beverage, something quite dangerous and unpredictable on earth, I'm afraid, but perfectly safe here. You still get drunk, but you don't throw up or sin, or get killed because sin and death doesn't exist anymore. But John 14:2-3 was right. Christ did prepare a room for me. And what a room it is! It must have cost at least a million dollars! No more crummy mattresses and box springs for me! No sir! I have a four poster waterbed with a headboard and footboard. And the place is clean! My old room was so crammed with junk that you had to do a dance to just get to the bed without stepping on something. But here, here you have little rats and mice picking up your things. I throw a sock on the floor, and a rodent carries it off through a little door.
My house is built on a tree. I can see miles of forests, mountains and glittering cities from here, and a fancy strip of hotels and casinos behind me. And there is a breathtaking waterfall on the other side. Oh, I'm typing on a computer in my room. It doesn't look a thing like the computers I'm used to. It comes on all by itself when I enter the room, and it doesn't take any time at all to load anything. I don't even think it does load anything. And there's a keyboard only for those who enjoy working with their hands. You can speak to the computer and it will type it in for you. Either way, it's kinda fun. The monitor seems to clean itself here, and I don't see any dust anywhere.

TARDIS

At one corner of my room is a TARDIS. I think that's awesome. It's actually bigger on the inside than on the outside. And I can teleport it out to a field exactly like on this picture.
The toys are cool, too. No more stiff, lifeless teddy bears, unless you like it that way. These bears talk to you and they sew themselves. This one in a green vest is telling me about the other things that Jesus did while he was on earth. The ones that could not be written down because no book could contain them all. He tells it so beautifully. I can't seem to write it down exactly as he says it. He keeps adding more details. Sorry. I guess I shouldn't try to write that stuff down. It's much better to hear it yourself.
I noticed two main things when I first came in. There was a gateway leading to something like a gigantic amusement park, and another leading into a beautiful garden. I wouldn't call it the south entrance or the north entrance because heaven doesn't have a normal entrance at all. To say that there is an end where the parking lot and the end of heaven exists would undermine the sheer magnitude of heaven. No, I merely had my back to the other regions of the place.
The garden caught my attention because of the peacocks. They were more beautiful than the ones on earth. Their feathers are in all sorts of bright colors, brighter than an earth peacock's fan. Although I found the theme park interesting, I couldn't help going down the garden path first. My first inclination was to jump into the weeds and brush. But there were no weeds. No thorns, no poison ivy, none of those annoyances. When I saw the grassy hillside, I immediately went over to it and laid down. It wasn't wet or muddy or filled with crawling bugs. You could just lay down and relax. And lotus blossoms were everywhere.
And then I saw a lion standing on the hill. It was silent, but it had a warm expression on its face. As I approached, it turned into a man. It was Jesus. He was just as I imagined him. Not a white guy or a black guy, but sort of a mediterranean or middle eastern fellow. As if to prove who he was, he appeared ugly, like the prophet Isaiah foretold. Isaiah 53:2. But then he changed his shape again, and his blemishes were gone. A movie star could not compare to what I saw.
Oops. Uncle Pat's going to take me for a walk around the garden for awhile. I'll write more later.
