Founded in 1968 as an educational charity with over 4000 volunteers sent to date.
The volunteers are sent to various projects in 24 different countries. Approx. 200 volunteers are sent every year.
Criteria to become a volunteer is that you need to be between 17 and 19 years of age and an E.U. citizen.
Project trust aim to supply their young volunteers with educational experiences. They do this through living and working with people in communities extremely different to the ones they have grown up in.
The project I have been chosen for is in a fishing area called Chimbote. It is a very industrial area with lots of fish factories in the town.
