This pictures the very beginning of Gillian's amazing career. She appeared in The Philantropist at the Long Wharf Theater and was rewarded afterwards with a 1990-91 Theatre World Award for her role in the acclaimed play produced by Alan Ayckbourne, Absent Friends. |

Here we can see Gillian in The Turning which is, indeed, her first appearence in a hollywood-like film. She portraited April Cavanaugh, and was directed by L.A. Puopolo in 1991. Although it wasn't even a secondary role, those brief scenes allowed her to show her potencial and delighted thousands of fans. |

1993 was, by far, Gillian's luckiest year. Passing herself of as a 27 years old, she audittioned for the role of Dana Scully. Despite Fox executive's disagreement, she landed the part in the cult-hit show, The X-Files. Instead of the blonde bimbo model the Network was looking for, Chris Carter visioned a different Scully: a brillant and stunning but serious woman; qualities both he found in Gillian. |
