Scott and Chaos walk down the stairs and stroll into the living room, where the rest of clan Karma is waiting. Chaos instantly hops up beside Kevin, taking special care to hit Gangrel in the face with his tail. Scott smirks and sits in the love seat beside Kevin who's on the couch. Shawn is moving around in the kitchen and Luna is sitting on the arm of the couch, beside Gangrel. Edge is sitting with Christian in his lap in the big easy chair and Austin is sitting on a kitchen chair his arms crosses on the top of the backrest.
Luna is the first to break the silence, "Scott, You and Kevin are going to have to watch him like a hawk, with the war going on."
"I know," Scott responds, "what is going on with the doom and gloom clan?"
"Nothing, right now," Luna reports, "But for some reason Clan DX is in town."
"We don't know yet," Gangrel continues, "But they may have been hired by Taker."
"Great," Kevin growls, "Now we have two clans to fight."
"Don't worry we have survived worse," Gangrel chirps.
The rest of the clan nods. Christian who has only been in the clan a year, just ignores them, hoping that this new boy and him will hit it off. Shawn walks in and flops onto Kevin's lap, munching on a banana.
"Shawn," Gangrel says, " Why would DX be here?"
Shawn looks at Gangrel shrugs his shoulders, "Taker may have hired them or they may just be passing through, any number of reasons."
"I'd lay a bet that Taker hired them," Austin states, crossing his arms, "Taker's been after us since Gangrel left the Ministry."
The sudden sound of soft foot steps on the stairway causes everyone to becomes silent and turn around. Sean stands at the top of the stairs looking down at all of them, looking shocked and nervous at the same time. Scott stands and waves his hand for Sean to come down. Sean takes a deep breath and walks down the stairs and goes straight to Scott's side.
"Alright Sean," Scott says pointing to the Kevin and Shawn, "You know Shawn and Kevin."
"Yeah," Sean says smiling, "Nice to see you have clothes on Shawn."
Shawn just smirks and cuddles into Kevin more, "hey kid, the body is a beautiful thing, and beauty is a sinful thing to waste."
Sean looks at Shawn for a second and then shakes his head in disbelief.
"That's Gangrel, our leader," Scott say pointing to the rest of the clan, "Luna our second in command and mate to Gangrel, Edge, Gangrel's novice and his mate Christian, and Austin head of clan security, don't worry he never bites clan members."
"Wanna bet," Austin states, glaring at Sean with his one lip curled just enough to show a single fang, "He causes any trouble and he's mine to deal with, as I see fit."
Scott wraps his arms around Sean's shoulders, to keep the kid from bolting, and Luna barks back at Austin "Hey don't scare the kid on his first night, Christ. You'll have him thinking that we're all big nasty jackass's like you."
Austin just looks at her with a look of "well duh" on his face.
Luna just snorts at him and turns to Sean, "I'm pleased to meet you Sean, and just ignore the old grouch there, everyone else does."
Sean smiles, trying not to run for the door, "Thank you."
Scott pulls Sean into the sit between him and Kevin. As Sean looks around at the other clan members, who are involved in smaller conversations of their own, Scott can't help but look at Sean. He looked almost childlike, a sweet innocent little lamb, Scott thinks to himself. Long midnight black hair, lean body and deep brown eyes, not to mention he looked so adorable in those all too large clothes of Shawn's . Scott feels eyes on him and looks up into Kevin's, who gives him a knowing smile.
Sean suddenly turns to Scott and asks softly, "UM how can Shawn eat if he's a vampire?"
Scott looks a him with an amuse smirk, "Because we need the vitamins and minerals from eating real food, to make us look like normal humans'. It's when we don't eat that we look like Dracula rejects."
Sean nods, "OH What about the sun."
"The sun kills us," Kevin replies, "It's something about the UV rays."
"And before you ask," Scott says, before Sean can say anything, "Crosses, holy water and stakes are of no danger to us, that's strictly movie crap ."
"Alright," Sean says softly, "So Anne Rice wasn't that far from the truth."
"Yeah," Scott states, "She's pretty close."
"That's another thing," Kevin states, "We remain alive, because normal people don't know the truth. You reveal us to a norm, your dead and so is the norm."
"You..."
"Not us, the enforcers," Scott clarifies, "they work for the higher powers. They're like the police force of the Vampires. They find out you've told someone, they'll show up at the door step."
"Ouch harsh," Sean mutters.
"But necessary," Kevin states, "If we didn't have certain rules, someone may have made us fact, in this day and age. It was bad enough, when people thought we where real. Hunters and Salem witch burning, we're never going back to that. The Enforcers keep it that way."
Sean nods his understanding.
Gangrel suddenly interjects, "Well Sean, I think we're leaving you in good hands. The rest of us have to feed and the Ruling council meeting still has to take place."
"Ruling Council?"
"Me, Luna, Scott, Kevin, and Austin," Gangrel explains, "Rule the clan."
Sean nods trying to absorb all of the info. The rest leave, leaving Shawn, Kevin, Scott and Sean alone. Shawn moves off Kevin"s lap, but curls up against him. Scott just stretches out and Sean pulls his feet underneath him.
"Why do I ... I don't know how to say this, trust you guys," Sean stammers.
"It the blood bond," Shawn explains, "It forms a link between a novice and his guardian."
"So even if they where beating me, I would trust them," Sean asks.
"No!!" Shawn exclaims, "The bond is different than that. If your guardian has a gentle or caring nature you trust them, if they're angry, your wary of them, but still obey them. It's a novice's biological defense a type of psychic tie with their guardian. It can protect them, somewhat."
Sean still looks at little confused and Scott gently places an hand on Sean's arm, "the problem is a Vampire isn't created knowing this info, because they haven't been with the guardian from birth, as children are, the novices mind, actually reads the info from the blood of the guardian. It's the novice's way of defending himself and if the guardian is abusive the novice knows this, and ..."
Scot drifts off as if remembering, Kevin suddenly continues, "Try to avoid it or leave."
Sean nods, and Shawn wraps an arm around Kevin's waist, "You'll understand all of this, as time goes on. Now I think we better go, I've fed, so you and me are going shopping. You need cloths and these two need to attend, the ruling council meeting, also they need to feed."
Shawn stands and take Sean's hand pulling him towards the door. Shawn pulls on a jean jacket and hands Sean a leather jacket. Sean looks back at his two guardians and notices that they almost seem to be remembering something or exchanging something between them. Shawn pulls him out of the house and into the car.
