What is this?
Philosophers such as Walter Benjamin and Roland Barthes theorized on the power of the camera and the photograph. Cultural critic Laura Mulvey pointed to classic Hollywood images and how they confine the woman as the "object" and how they give the man the power of the "male gaze." There is no doubt that capturing a moment perfectly in time -- and keeping that moment close and reproducing that moment in an infinity of copies -- changes the way we react to linear time, to fetishistic desire, to fiction, to reality. Throughout the years, I have been obsessed by film actors, television actors, news anchors, men and women... people who I do not know, but people who been the object of MY GAZE. The following pages will contain images and links to other sites where you will be able to hold the power of the Gaze longer. There is no real reason why I am putting this page together. Maybe I will learn something in synergy.
What this is not. Pornography.
