Fight or Flight botched this race, the axanareans. Now I'm a long-time Trek fan. I go back to next Gen and the Original Series with Kirk and if you are a long-time too, then you know the Axanareans were done wrong on Fight or Flight. It was lousy and not good. This is something that should not happen to me.The story made no sense because in Kirk's show they already talked about the Axanariens and the said it was Captain Garth who made first contact with them on the USS Republic. How does Fight or Flight makes sense with this? What happened? Did Archer never tell anyone about meeting them? What about his log? Did the Federation not count this and then when Captain Garth discovered them, they said he had first contact? This is just completely stupid and one of the bigest mistakes yet. They didn't even get the man looking right. That is not what the Axanareans look like. They have purple skin with white dust and that protects them from radiation. And their hair is rainbow colored. Read the Star Trek sourcebook for a description and a drawing of one. The book reads nothing about them living for four hundred years and being endragenous. I can't find anything in Captain Garth's show that agrees with this. Does anyone else help this? Does it work? No.

^ Yes! Is yours your first? No!And before anyone talks at me about sourcebooks not being canon because I don't want to hear that. This still happened and was written BEFORE the enterprise show was on the television. Even if you say to me that sourcebooks don't count (Good for you!) you still can't ignore how Captain Garth's story of first contact was just thrownj into the trash with the garbage away.

Captain Garth did not have first contact with the Axanar, he simply was a hero of the Battle of Axanar. Also, he did not command a ship called the Republic. But you are right about the race being screwed up, everyone knows that the Axanaranienssss can shoot lightning out of thier arses. ------------------ "Ya know, when we finally get through this, I'd like to locate and raid a kitchen somewhere." -- James T. Yep, they also have ice powers because they live on a planet of ice, so naturally they would have developed ice powers so that they could, uhm, yanno, freeze stuff because its an ice planet, and ice planets never have enough frozen stuff. The sourcebook says so.

Based on the occasional refeences to the Axanar Peace Mission in the original series, I always assumed the Axanar were a fairly long-established race on the galactic political scene long before Kirk's cadet days.and on an only moderately related topic, I'm in favor of referring to the people of the planet Axanar as either "the Axanar" or "Axanari" as opposed to "Axanarians", although I guess "Axanarians" sounds about as good as "Andorians". The only onscreen canon references to the Axanar were Kirk's Palm Leaf of Axanar award and Garth's victory at Axanar. Nothing else was known of this race previously, except for non-canon references.

im actually surprised that no one has mentioned it that kai winn said that the homeworld of the andorians was andor, when t'pol used andoria. is this something to go stark raving mad over! no, of course not, its a tv show and they make mistakes. im not gonna dislike the show because of a little error or two. thats what happens in a show with the history star trek does. the axanar, cool race, lets see more of em i say. ------------------ "Baseball-like our movies, like our newspapers and magazines-has fallen into the hands of rich, vulgar people who neither love nor understand it." Chill out people. If someone makes a comment you don't like, come up with an argument to prove them wrong. Insulting them is not a valid argumentative strategy. It only suggests that you can't come up with an intelligent argument in reply. quote: Originally posted by Silik: Who bashes the bashers?[b]MajorBarcalow Who does a brilliant job at it while getting around the terms of service every single time? 1 official warning for flaming goes to Apocolypse Cow. quote: From the Policy: In general, a flame can be defined as being aimed at one particular person or group of persons, and of an insulting or malicious nature.
Don't call someone a "sod." It's a flame. Now, if someone wishes to engage in a civil discussion about MajorBarcalow's ideas, please feel welcome. EDIT: After consultations with my fellow Mods, the term "sod" actually falls short of the definition of flaming. My bad. The warning is thus rescinded and has been removed from the warnings utility. Nope. Some people just get certain ideas in their head about some shows or roleplaying games that they're passionate about, and fully believe that their view is the only correct one. Its pretty obvious Barclow isn't stupid; his grammar isn't hard to read and he dosen't make very many obvious spelling errors. Its just his views of the show that are a bit odd, as is his absolute belief that his opinions are set-in-stone-fact.

Tigerbait: the "sourcebook" in question is the Core Rules for the Star Trek RPG from Last Unicorn Games (now out of production). It has a write up of the "Axanarians" for use as a PC race. This of course (1)has nothing to do with "official" Trek, as the modern RPGs are not and never have been considered "canon". (2)was written well before Enterprise even went on the air.
