I went looking for my christmas presents today and I found them. I'm getting TWO of the new Star Wars lego sets. One is the cloud car from Bespen in the Empires Strikes Back and then I'm getting the Final Dual set. I opened them and I think they're boss except for a few things I like if they were better.

First, the cloud car only has Lobot. There are NO cloudcar pilots! Why? Why aren't there pilots? They could at least do ONE pilot and a Lobot but now there is one pod empty.

Then in the Final Dual set, the Stormtrooper has no face under his helmet.

And on the cloud car, there are brown bricks on it. Cloud cars are all red. Lego likes to do this alot and stick different colors in their sets. Like the Slave I has green on it.

A side for this, they are cool a lot.

Perhaps the possibility exists that the Cloud Car pilot was only seen from the head-up, making the rest of the uniform largely conjecture. The old Kenner figure OTOH did feature a full-body length uniform, but it's unclear whether this was simply conjecture in much the same way 2-1B's legs didn't really 'exist' in TESB.

Of course, it stands to reason that several (barely-seen) Cloud Car pilots might have been seen in full uniform in several of the corridor scenes in Empire, which perhaps provided a basis for Kenner to design the figure. It's possible this wasn't the case for the Lego figs.

Of course, if this still bothersome to an extent, there always customization.

Currently, there isn't one slated for early next year. However, it's possible one may come out in either the Summer or Fall quarter of 2002 since new items are continuously being poured out in several waves throughout the year.

Here's a breakdown of the current and upcoming items for SW Lego:

I noticed the Twin Pod Cloud Car lego set in ToysRUs the other day. It's always been a special ship for me, because it was the only Kenner vehicle I had as a kid.
It looked to me like the ship was too red. I thought it was more orange on film. I know the Kenner toy is orange.

Which Final Duel set did you get? The one with luke and the guards or the Vader/Emperor set?

Oh, yeah, I almost forgot.

I got the set with Luke and the guards because I wanted the Imperiel Oficer. And the other Final Dual was just Darth Vadar and the Emperer. I have Vadar and I'll get the Emperer when I get the Imperiel Shuttle.

The shuttle is so cool. It's always been one of my favorite SW ships. The lego set is sweet with the emperor and the imperial guards.

Target stores are having their usual Xmas markdowns for this year's SW legos, so you might be in luck. Unfortunately, they go pretty quick, but here some info on some markdowns:

The Lego company minimizes things alot, the Cloud Car, for example, should be a hell of a lot bigger.

They also don't use the proper colors sometimes.

I was surprised about the cloud car. Lobot?? Since they choose him, shouldn't Lando have been in the other pod? It's only a $9 set so I didnt' expect too much. Design wise it doesn't rank up there with the B-wing, X-wing or snow speeder. My favorites are the Y-wing set and the shuttle, but I had to get Slave 1 for the little Boba Fett and Han in carbonite...

Yes. Lando needs to be in. But Lego is not making blacks and I posted it before about no blacks in Lego. I like the cloud car but not brown bricks and I need to pilots to put on it. I like the Slave I. Except I don't like green bricks in it.
