ELECTRICAL
The electric was hooked up to provide 4, 20 amp circuts, with *gfi outlets along the top and down both sides to provide outlets for the lights, fan , pump, timers, and most importantly the radio. Fortunately one of the guys from construction services did the electrical work so material cost was only $365.00. If you are not a licensed electrician you really need to hire this work out. The reason we have four separate circuits is to allow for more power than we ever would need and it is very convenient to have an electrical outlet every four feet along either side. A bit of over kill but a luxury which was available that we took advantage of. The water heater is 220 volts and is hooked up to a kill switch that is wired to a *gfi breaker in the main electrical panal. In the spring we drain the water heater and flush it and the hoses out then turn off the kill switch untill the next fall. *gfi (ground fault indicator a type of electrical circut used in areas of moisture or water that will automaticly disconect in case of a short. Used near sinks in bathrooms or kitchens .)
WATER
We installed water to the north end of the green house wall through a three valve manifold. One valve controls water to the mist system, one valve controls water to a hose bib to provide irrigation, and the last valve supplies water to the hot water heater. Because the water line runs outside of the building about four feet is exposed to the outside temperature we wrapped the line with heat tape and heavy pipe insulation to avoid freezing. The line that is set up for mist irrigation is also controlled by an electric valve used for irrigation systems. The valve is controlled by a timer and a relay attached to a 24 volt transformer. The timer controls the time the electricity is supplied. The relay is set for time on and time off. The transformer is on during the time on and is off during the time off cycles. The Irrigation line itself is 1" pvc with mist heads installed every 30" on center at 15" over the bench.

This is a picture of the water manifold. The valve on left is water bib. The valve on the right irrigation.
The electric irrigation valve is shown in the back it is wired to transformer in timer. The red handel is a shut off valve . Top right is an inline strainer to keep mist heads clean.
The red object is the timer relay it can be set for on and off cycles from 15 seconds to 2400 seconds. The white object is a 24 hour timer like you use for lamps. The silver object is the transformer wired up to the relay and the irrigation valve.
The mist Line is 1" pvc pipe . The line is held up 15" above the bench. The blue object on top of the pipe is a mist head. The object on the far right is a drain valve attached at the end of the pipe to prevent drips from the heads.
