Stephen's Philosophy

(Granger): I will be assisted today by the personality we will know as Stephen. He is from The Auroral People and is recognized by these people as what we, in the physical world would call a writer. He does not sit and write at a desk, of course, but in a similar way he creates thought-patterns that contribute to the literature of The Auroral People. ...He will begin now.

(Granger for Stephen): Yes! Good Morning world! This is Stephen ...in your way of expressing names. I want to write a little message for our friends of the physical earth, and I would like also to write about the environment in which I live and love and enjoy life. We see the beauty of creation on both sides. We watch the harmony of the skies from your side of life and the beauty of the vibration of consciousness as it continues in spin-offs of grandeur from this side. We might, in fact, think of the entire physical universe as one gigantic "spinoff" from out of the sources and resources of the vast, unmeasurable cosmic consciousness.

We, The Auroral People, as you refer to us, are very close to the physical dimension in this giant "spinoff." We almost straddle the fence between physical and spiritual. The human mind, in the physical body, in the physical , earth, does just that, precisely that. It does indeed straddle the cosmic fence. Now that is not to be taken as an undesirable or awkward mode of being; the human mind is not trapped in the physical body in any way. It has chosen to be there. It resides in the presence of the physical body, in the good graces of the High-soul, until the time of physical death of the body, at which time the mind continues, along with the spiritual body, to carry out its assignments that started back at day-one...when it first chose the cycle of physical life.

Now the point I am working toward is that there is not so very much difference between your mode of life and mine, except that you have chosen for a time to reside on the physical side of life. There is much to be gained from life on both sides. There is no need to feel limited in any way because you find yourself in the physical environment. There is nothing to dread, on the other hand, if you find yourself about to cross to the spiritual side. Believe me, one is as real as the other; the separation is something less than a heavy curtain.

The "burden of life", that is so readily referred to in the physical side of reality, is an unknown term for The Auroral People. To us life is a great pleasure, an experience to be enjoyed, an awareness to be experienced with great enthusiasm. We are not burdened with the heavy loads sometimes placed on those in the physical earth. We understand some of the problems and the heavy responsibilities of the physical life. We try at times to reach out and give an assist, but the tightness of a closed mind is something that cannot be easily overcome.

We wish the day would come in the physical earth when the mind of man would open just enough to see something of the bewildering array of harmony and life and great adventure there before you, for the experience of an open and seeking mind. Do not fear the neighbour who will brand you as a kook, or a renegade from convention. Next year he may wish to come up and join you on your rooftop.

The entire universe of the vast cosmos vibrates and pulses with endless forms of life and being that beckon to the open mind. No need to sit around and grovel in a dark corner; walk in the sunshine. If you have bad legs or a broken body, no matter; better a broken body in the sunshine than a whole body in the dark corner. We walk through the stars in the nighttime. We walk in the sunshine at noon. We enjoy the moonlight at midnight and the clouds that roll in and pass through. We enjoy a vast array of living. We encompass as much as we can, but we do it in an easy and comfortable way. Don't break the bank of energy just to arrive at a certain spot at a given deadline.

We do not live by deadlines, nor do we run the gauntlet of competition. To each his own. We are unique, each one of us...and you. No need to be higher or lower, or wealthier, or poorer, or better, or worse than someone else. Your goals need to be only those you placed in your own secret mind. You place them there together with your own High-soul. Do not chase nor envy someone else's star. Let him pursue his treasure while you enjoy travelling along your own pathway.

We need to see the flowers along the roadside as we hasten along toward our goals of the day. Do not assume that it is sufficient to arrive. One needs to arrive, that is true, but better to bring the vast riches of the experience of the journey with you. We, The Auroral People, observe the mad haste of people in the physical life and wonder why such fervent energy to arrive. We prefer to enjoy the journey.

We observe a great desire of people on earth for possession of property of one kind or another. Everyone desires to own this or that. Almost everyone wants to own a house, or a farm, or an estate of some kind. Some desire to own several estates, locating them in different parts of the earth. We see nothing wrong with the desire to own things, but we wonder when so much in the earth is there for free why so little value is placed upon it. In this world in which we live we are not interested in owning things because it is so very obvious that the only thing we could possibly own in the end is the thoughts created out of our own minds. In the end, there is no other thing of any value that anyone could possibly continue to own. Your own thinking, your own knowledge, your own-attitudes, these are the only things that you can possess and retain for all time. "As a man thinketh so is he." That is a wise and true statement.

We might look at your life through our eyes and try to tell you how we think we would try to live if we were native to your physical world. We have to be somewhat more responsible now than when we observe you merely in terms of idle chatter over the back fence, or the back-forty, depending on your preference.
