Stephen as a Writer in The Earth

(Granger for Stephen): Suppose I were a writer in the physical plane, and to reside in the earth. How, you might ask, would I write and what would I write about? I would write in something of a philosophical strain, and some poetry perhaps. I suppose I would be called a philosopher. In the earth, a man or woman is usually termed a philosopher when you don't know what other term to use. It indicates a sort of highly educated, unemployable sort of fellow or girl, as the case may be. Over here (The Auroral People) we don't make so much of sex, be they male or female, but we do distinguish in The Auroral People that there is male and female. Since we don't bear children as you do in physical terms, the sex of the individual is more a reflection of the concepts and philosophical nature of the person. The animus and the anima of your earth concepts are present here because they are inherent in all nature.

If I were a writer in the earth, I would first of all champion certain causes and write to the best of my ability on their behalf. The causes, I would defend and support first would be, as you may guess by now, the elimination of racial prejudice from the entire earth. Every man and every woman has the right to choose the form of government desired. Every man, woman, and child has the gift, the right through universal consciousness, to be a unique and free individual, able to live with equal opportunity and rights of recognition within the society chosen. No human being (and believe me, no other being of any, plane of consciousness) has the right to impose any form of slavery or. regimentation, or lower standards, upon any other individual. And no being of self-aware consciousness has the right to close a door, or turn the back, or present a deaf ear to any other being who is in need.

The earth, the human race, needs to understand that there is no gracious luxury of life that permits one to ignore and walk away from those who are ready to accept help and step up to the next rung in the ladder of life. The human race needs to understand that the way to make peace in the earth is not to direct violence against your fellow man. War must become a thing of the past; the earth can no longer sustain the destructive forces of war. The earth cannot absorb nor soak-up another Holocaust. The mind and brain of man approaches that of a giant in a child's emotional structure. Either the emotions must mature to keep pace or the whole enterprise could self-destruct.

The next area of life, a more pleasant one, in which I would want to write would be that of a philosophy of consciousness; the reasons for life, the meaning and purpose of life, the coming from and the going to of all being. That would be the -equivalent 0£ my life in the realm in which I live. I give the equivalent of lectures or talks on the meaning of life in the terms of The Auroral People. I do not write, of course. You might think of what I do more in the style of the Socrates of the earth. Of some interest to you from a point of , view of earth-history, in the days in which Socrates lived in the earth I was, doing much the same in this plane of being. Time to us has a very different meaning than it does to you in the physical earth.

I would want to clarify certain misunderstandings that exist in the human mind, in large areas of human thought. One of these areas is that of the Christian Church in the earth. The Christ concept is misunderstood in many ways and has become locked in by dogma and rules-of-thumb established by convention and repetition and, sometimes, by decree. The Christ Consciousness is a Universal, Force. It is not confined in any way to the limitations of life in the physical earth. The man Jesus, who best represents this consciousness in the earth, is a high and advanced personality who continues in terms of complete reality to develop in the Higher-consciousness. But the open-ended, moving, dynamic awareness of the Christ Consciousness is a vital, living force that moves as one aspect of the Higher-consciousness that you of the Christian faith in the earth refer to as God.

That same consciousness, that same spirit, that same motivation is the energizing, living force that moves other religions of the earth. Just because a concept is dressed in different clothing, given different names and presented in different language does not make it any different in its essence. Because of the failure of large religious orders of the earth to recognize the oneness and unity and harmony of the essential essence of the spirit of that which formed the original ideas in the first place, ...because of this failure, the formal religions of the earth have lost their essential beingness and have begun to crumble as the giant dinosaurs of the ancient earth.

Out of this crumbling order will rise a new and fresher spirit that will. hopefully, carry the essential message of the universal spirit we referred to earlier as Christ Consciousness. By whatever name, it must live in its free-flowing essence. And live it will, recognizing no barriers nor limitations in the earth or in any other plane of being.

The human mind needs to stop putting ideas in boxes and placing them on a shelf. all labelled in neat little rows. The boxes and bottles burst because they can no longer hold in the pressure of living thought.

Finally for this morning, if I could sit in the earth and pursue the Muse, I would endeavour to persuade the mind-of-man to open to the realities of life in its many forms and diverse dimensions of which physical consciousness and being is but one of many. If it were true that life is physical-only in its nature, then we are playing some neat little trick on someone here this morning. Let me describe for you the setup we are using, here and now, to perform this writing. I, Stephen of The Auroral People, am a psychic personality, as complete in my awareness as any who roam the physical earth seeking to know the meaning of being. I am surrounded by many of my fellow beings who enjoy life in many forms and ways of awareness, living in a dimension not too far removed from those realities you recognize in tbe physical earth. By means of a channel arranged through the good graces of our friends (and your dear departed members of the life on earth) who are the very real and living personalities who once lived in physical bodies on the physical earth (and I might add, are but a whisper removed from y6u on earth) I am able to communicate my thought-patterns and ideas through the mind of the one we will refer to as Granger. He translates and presents this material in physical-earth terms, and in words you can record and read in the physical life on earth. The one who writes does so with an easy and open mind, and that completes the channel.

And now, dear heart, if you wish to swim in the whitecaps and enjoy the capers of the high seas of life, you must first let go of the rock to which you cling. Let go and feel the buoyancy of the waters, let the waves lap at your face, let the clouds go drifting by, look around and see others enjoying the depths of the clear waters and the vast reaches of the blue sky. We will enjoy your presence; you will enjoy the swim. And you may become so enthusiastic with the buoyancy of the waters of life that you will never again want to hang to your rock on the dull grey shore.
