Characteristics
The German Longhaired Hunting Dog have been bred since
1879 as a pure breed.Since the beginning welps have been exclusively passed on to foresters and hunters.
The characteristics of the breed are as follows:
strong, muscular dog with a balanced build
Males: shoulder height 63-66 cm
Females: height 60-63 cm
- Their fur is thick and the guard hairs tend to closely outline their
bodies.
On the ears, on the hocks and on the underside of the chest and tail the guardhairs are elongated.
Colour variations: all liver
brown and white
mottled
With their tough constitutions the German Longhair easily meet the challanges of demonding hunting conditions..
