RAY OF HOPE

Sinking into darkness, deeper then a moonless night,
Reaching out, searching, looking for the light.
Grasping for the ultimate, so clear within my sight,
But shadows consume me, filling me with fright.
Is there no ray of hope, within this soul of mine?
Must I live within this darkness for the rest of time?
Slowly sinking, drawning, as it takes hold of my mind,
Swirling down into the blackness, whirlpools of a kind.
I look into the heavens, I trust in God above,
I tell myself the light I seek, comes from His sweet love.
Then when I'm at my lowest, sinking the third time,
Angels come and whisper, hang on, fear not, you will be fine.
He sends me these angels, each a ray of hope,
Sent here to show me, they will help me cope.
If I just put my trust in God, my light will shine once more,
So I can escape the darkness, closing that monsters door.
My angels are not spirits, apparitions in my head,
Thier angels here in human form, so don't let it be said,
That angels don't exist here or anywhere at all,
Because I just had my life saved by one angelic call.
Thank you sweet Jesus, for sending me your light,
For sending me a candle to brighten my night.
Thank you for the angels, who bring a ray of hope,
That I in turn, an angel be, helping others cope.
