Symptoms of Depression

Do you suspect you suffer from depression? Are you closing yourself off from the world?

Depression can present itself slowly over time or suddenly, such as when a loved one passes away. Depression does run in some families and it may be a result of a biochemical imbalance in the brain. It tends to be recurrent and can totaly distroy the sufferers life.

Below you will find many of the symptoms related to depression. I say many as depression rears it's ugly head in numerous assorted ways, but, the ones you will find here are the most consitant in a depressed person.

Depression can show itself in assorted ways. The depressed person may experience an overall lack of interest in life around them, or have decreases in normal daily activities.
There are feelings of worthlessness, incompetence and inadequacy, which intrudes upon the sufferers daily life.

A depressed person will have trouble thinking clearly. They will pull away from family and friends, often totaly isolating themselves from the outside world. Feelings of sadness, loss of control of your emotions, thoughts, and feelings which are everywhere but where you want them to be. Depression can cause feelngs of confusion, fear, desertion, of being unloved and unwanted.

Depression often hides behind such ailments as sleeplessness, lack of appitite, weight loss, overeating and wieght gain, constipation and a general loss of interest.

The depressed person can not just "Snap out of it"
